PROTEI, a leading telecom solutions provider, has secured a new DPI contract in East Africa with Comores Telecom, a universal operator that offers telecommunication services through 3G, EVDO, ADSL, and Wi-Fi standards. The wide variety of services and traffic types within its network has complicated the billing processes, creating a need for a modern and flexible system for online traffic analysis and billing.

Among the most technically challenging and engaging aspects of the project was the simultaneous operation of the DPI platform throughout all network segments. PROTEI DPI serves as a traffic management platform equipped with deep packet inspection capabilities, enabling effective management of network resource utilization and implementation of billing policies for each traffic type based on multiple parameters. Furthermore, the PROTEI Policy Controller functions as an intelligent node, regulating policy and charging parameters for mobile Internet subscribers in real-time.

The deployment of these platforms has empowered Comores Telecom to effectively address online charging challenges related to various traffic types across multiple network segments. PROTEI has developed a unique solution specifically tailored to meet the operator’s distinct requirements.
