PROTEI launches in Palestine

In another successful endeavor in the Middle East, PROTEI has delivered service platforms to the Palestinian operator Wataniya Mobile. Over the past year, this new equipment has enabled the operator to significantly modernize its value-added services (VAS) platforms and introduce a range of new mobile services for its subscribers.

Wataniya Mobile began operations in Palestine in 2009 and has grown to be the second-largest mobile operator in the region, committed to leading in the quality and variety of telecommunications services for both businesses and individual customers. The implementation of new solutions from PROTEI represents a major milestone in the company’s development.

PROTEI supplied several systems, including the Missed Call Notification system, SMS Centre, Dynamic Voice Mail, Comfortable Jump server, Bulk SMS/MMS server, Call Back, and the xVLR system for location-based targeted messaging. The PROTEI SMS Centre now handles a significant share of the operator’s SMS traffic. The primary tool for mobile marketing services is the Bulk SMS/MMS system, enhanced by the xVLR platform, which allows for targeted messaging to subscribers in specific areas.

The Comfortable Jump service, in addition to the traditional missed call notification system, streamlines the process of number changes by notifying callers of the new number after they hear an automated voice message. Callers then receive an SMS with the subscriber’s new number, while the subscriber receives an SMS informing them that a call was made to their old number.

With the CallBack server, roaming subscribers can request a callback via SMS or USSD query. A notable feature of the service implemented in Palestine is the ‘unconditional’ callback option, which, once activated, allows all calls to be connected via callback.

All PROTEI platforms are fully integrated with the operator’s existing infrastructure, and the successful completion of this project has significantly strengthened PROTEI’s presence in the telecommunications market in the Middle East.
